In-Home Training & Behaviour Consultation

In-Home Training & Behaviour Consultation

Dog behaviour can be confusing and frustrating, and you aren’t sure how to fix it on your own. Your lovable canine companion is wreaking havoc in your already busy life.

Activate can help. Our trainer has worked with families and their canine companions on a range of behaviours achieving positive results. Giving families the confidence to guide their dogs and enjoy the freedom that comes with a well-mannered and happy dog.

“I had bought a 12 mth female kelpie with no training or socialisation into my home and it was like a cyclone had hit. Bek helped me with my dogs behaviour with crate training , general behaviour, settling into a new environment then you helped with loose lead walking and reactivity in lead. I now have a happy balanced dog who is easy to walk. Thank you.”

What is In-Home Training?

The convenience of having the trainer come to you, at a time that works in your busy schedule.

The best place to start your training is at home, where you and your dog are most comfortable and spend a great deal of your together.

In-Home Training brings the trainer to you, meeting at your home or out in public. This allows the trainer to give you their undivided attention, time and expertise. Group classes are great but they are not for everybody and you need that one-on-one support and attention from a trainer to work on what is important to you.

Why do I need a Behaviour Consultation?

In a behaviour consult the trainer will listen to you talk about your dog. It is important to understand not only what they are doing but why. From here the trainer can put together a plan that truly addresses your dogs needs… and yours!

What happens during the behaviour consultation?

It all starts with your initial 2 hour appointment. Our trainer will listen to you explain the problem, spend time observing your dog in their home environment and put together your personal training plan. Feel confident that you know how to support and guide your dog.

Understanding that every dog is different and learn at their own pace, our trainer will discuss your ongoing training needs with you.

Using kind, respectful and effective training methods for lasting and positive behaviour change.

What happens if our family is isolating due to Covid?

That is ok. Our trainer can transfer seamlessly to online training sessions for you and your family. With Covid being a factor in daily life, it is important to have a plan B. With online training you can begin and/or continue your training without delay.

How much does training cost?

“It was a very enlightening experience having Rebekah visit our 5 year old staffy( Karma) .
Really helped to break down our end goal into smaller parts and provided lots of advice for training as well as on the breed itself. She has made me feel more confident in training karma now and would highly recommend Bek to others”
